the 2001 camry is better build and will run longer. the 2001 corolla has a timing chain and a problem with burning oil the door panels are cheap plastic and break uncontrolably. personally i love my gen 3 (1994 camry) i don't like neither 01 camry or 01 corolla but if i had to choose i would get the camry.
