Sansui with the Definition Series and AU integrateds. Marantz with the 500, 510M, 300DC, and 1300DC. Marantz was much better in the tube era. It's a close call but I tip my hat to Marantz.

You could hook it to a pair of $30K Dynaudio speakers, and it's not going to alleviate the shortcomings present in this piece of equipment. I saw a pair of Marantz HD88 speakers today and it got me thinking this was the matching speakers that went with the 2600. The HD88's were rated at 300 wpc, the same as the 2600.
